Sunday afternoon tour of Lucas County visiting small farms, winery, and pumpkin patch

Farm Crawl 2015

It was July 23rd, to be exact, when I wrote my last post.  At the time, I told myself I was going to take the rest of July and August off to travel and to focus on my Qigong/Tai Chi forms then get back to blogging and posting.  August turned to September, September turned to October…well, you know the sequence.  So—hello, November.  I have to say I’m surprised, but pleased, to see you.

Refreshed, revitalized and charged up, I hit CTRL+ALT+DEL (reset) on my routine and am happy to report what I learned during my summer hiatus.

  1. Qigong is my first love and is the reason I am healthier than I have been in years.
  2. Practice every day, at least a little.
  3. If I walk away from things that aren’t right for me, I’ll make room for things that are.
  4. Good friends are forever.
  5. Traveling on a bus with 35 other seniors is great for about seven days…the last three days of a TEN day trip can be agony.
  6. Gluten-free Chocolate Oatmeal Chunkers from the Sugar Rush Cookbook are the best cookies in the world, (use Kerrygold butter, not coconut oil).
  7. Iowa country roads are still dusty, but the people who live on them are definitely not.

Most important, I came to realize, more than ever:  I practice Qigong/Tai Chi so I can live to be a healthy, vital 100 year-old.  I teach Qigong/Tai Chi so others can join me on the journey.

Today, and every day, I am grateful for family, friends, my teachers and students, and this wonderful, wonderful life I am so blessed to live.  -b
