Today, just as it’s been for thousands of years, science and tradition recognize the value of breaking stress cycles with moments of peace and balance.  Ancient Taoists developed the mantra of “Four-Word Treasure of Success”.  The practice is a mini-break, so to speak, practiced throughout the day in order to build a habit of relief from life’s demands.

The four words are relaxed, tranquil, fearless, and carefree.   The first two words, relaxed and tranquil define the physical state we desire.  The second set, fearless and carefree, describe our preferred attitude and emotional condition.

How long does it take?  Just a few seconds.  Breath in and out, repeat the four words, and believe that you have wisdom and healing within your own powerful mind.   When should you use it?  Begin to practice in non-stressful situations, cultivate a routine of using the mantra so often it feels natural.  Then, you will begin to rely on the Treasure in times of stress.  (adapted from the Healer Within –Roger Jahnke)       Namaste, Becky.
